Struck Down

November 28th, 2007 · General, Non Boating

Sorry not to have posted sooner but I have been fighting off a severe bout of Bronchitis, I’m not the worlds best patient and when i’m ill I prefer to be left alone.

The Doctor prescribed a strong antibiotic which seemed to clear up the problem but a week later I was back with the same cough and symptoms….a chest X-Ray later and I’m now on some more antibiotics a different type…touch wood these seem to be working…but as with all antibiotics they mess up your digestion so I cannot stray too far from the WC….too much information I hear you say……

Lest We Forget

November 11th, 2007 · General

From “For the Fallen” By Laurence Binyon 1914

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

I must be going soft

November 1st, 2007 · General

Well Halloween last night turned out to be not so bad, ok ok it was fun except when the door bell went as I was cooking.

The very small members of our community dressed as witches, wizzards and devils (The best was a little boy in a buggy dressed up as a pumpkin complete with hat) accompanied by their mums were very polite and seemed over awed by it all…. strangers giving them sweets and encouraged by their by their mums to say thank you. It almost brings back my faith in human kindness  (I can’t be seen to give up the Grumpy Man image) I overheard one mum hoping that she would get back home before little ? threw up……….
