Hi – I am looking for a blog for narrow boats. Being fairly new to this, I am needing advice about various aspects of maintainance. Currently, how to start a lister engine (circa 1956) that has been lying dormant for nearly a year. Allowing for plenty of diesel and some spray start ( the previous owner has been using this for many years, so now she will not start without) – will the battery need charging? Currently I have replaced the trickle charge battery that feeds leisure batteries. This is working well – but does this also feed the battery that connects to the engine? Any thoughts on the above would be received gratefully!
